I spoke recently with Springwidgets about the advanced features they're building out, see example above. This widget is loaded with a menu of choices, has full screen options, all the embed tools you'd expect, and links thru to wallpapers, screensavers, desktop "takeovers" (like a Fantastic Four clock) etc. And they track everything, so you get some metrics. Springwidgets provides free widget tools (like the ones coBRANDiT has been using to distribute FlyingDog and WOMMA content) but hopes to bring in some $$ by selling the advanced stuff. Don at Springwidgets tells me the CPM rates are very reasonable...
