AdHack has officially launched it's DIY ad platform (kudos to James and crew); I found the vid above (Misunderstood Holidays: St Patrick's Day) at the top of the new submissions. Created by Giant Ant Media,
"The idea was to personify the holiday so that he could tell his side of the story... about what he goes through day to day. It's very brand/product neutral, but could be used for greeting cards, beer... We envision it as a series that follows each holiday at their time of the year."Anyway, the vid's kinda funny. For more on AdHack philosophy, click here. And they have some competition here and here and sorta here.
Comment:
Hi Owen,
Thanks much for the kind words and attention directed at AdHack. If
you like the St. Patrick's Day ads, you might also like these that we
did for Valentine's Day.
We're also super keen to get more folks contributing to AdHack. So if
anyone is interested we created an introduction page here to get your head wrapped around the idea.
As for competitors we have found a few more too. I'd count Brickfish
(www.brickfish.com) and Genius Rocket (www.geniusrocket.com) among
those we see as competitors. Though we each have our own take on the
consumer-generated advertising process.
And while we're on the topic, the note you have for comments is kind
of an AdHack against Movable Type. (If I was doing it all over again I'd go with wordpress...-ed.)
Best,
James
